Scholarship for Noorie and Vishal at Alliance Française

Noorie from TARA Girls and Vishal, formerly from TARA Boys and now a TARA Big Bird, have always loved speaking French. The good news is that they have got a scholarship at the Alliance Française, Delhi, probably the best place to learn French in the capital and also the nicest! The course covers more than just grammar and vocabulary; students also discover French and Francophone cultures and civilisations while preparing for international diplomas. Their classes meet twice a week, on Saturdays and Sundays, for four hours at a time. They can tell you all about it: here's their experience!
Vishal
When I learned that I would be starting French classes at the Alliance Française in Delhi, I was super excited, but also a little nervous. It's an opportunity that will open new doors for me in the future, I'm aware of that!
I had already learned a little French at school. It wasn't easy, but I really enjoyed it. Plus, I grew up in regular contact with French-speaking people, and I've always dreamed of visiting France one day!
The classes at the Alliance Française are really fun and interactive. They are very useful, and sometimes even a little easier for me since I already have some basics. Of course, pronunciation is still difficult, and grammar, especially conjugation, requires a lot of work. But I am not afraid of challenges! My favorite sentence in French is "Est-ce que je peux aller aux toilettes?", which means "Can I go to the toilet", it's funny but it's one of the first sentences I was able to pronounce correctly!
What I like most is that learning isn't just about the language. I've also developed other skills: better communication, time management, listening skills, and, most importantly, self-confidence. I've learned to stop being so afraid of other people's judgment and to participate freely in class.
For me, this is a great opportunity. Representing TARA in such a renowned institution makes me proud, and I am grateful!
My dream is to do a Master's degree in France, and I know that learning French is the first step to getting there. As I like to say now: "Je suis très excité et heureux" which means "I am very excited and happy."

I was really excited when I learned I had been selected to learn French at the Alliance Française. It's a great opportunity to study in such a renowned place, and I'm glad I had it!
The classes are very stimulating. I love the way French is taught here. There's also a lot of diversity in the class: people of all ages and from different professions come together to learn, which makes each session rich in exchanges and new perspectives that go far beyond the language itself.
So far, I haven't encountered any major difficulties, as I already knew the basics. But I know that if I ever need help, the TARA team will always be there for me. One of my favorite phrases at the moment is "Je ne comprends pas " which means "I don't understand", although I hope I don't have to say it for too long!
This experience has helped me grow in many ways. In addition to learning a new language, I'm gaining confidence, learning to adapt to new situations, and interacting with people older than me. Representing TARA in such a respected institution makes me proud.
Learning French is already influencing my goals: I am convinced that it will open many doors for me in the future, both in my studies and in my career.
If I had to describe how I feel about this opportunity in French, I would simply say: "Je suis heureuse" which means "I am happy".
