Tara Tots: Here they Are!

You have been waiting for them? Us too! Here are the Tara Tots, presently 6 in the home: 4 girls and 2 fellows.

They are 3 to 5 years old and they are a little shaken by the landing. But in the same time they seem to appreciate the home and the quiet environment. Here, Manish and Noorie fully busy discovering their new toys...

Here, Vanshika, Manish and Noorie full power in their brand new school, the great preschool Santa Maria, run by prestigious Saint Mary's, a school with a strong sense of Social Commitment.

"Schooooool" tweet the Tots. It's their first visit and they were expecting something more off-putting.

And already, the first badmashi... Two great specialists, Sayra and Deepika, covering with white paint the walls that they had previously decorated with charming but non-authorised scribblings.

Can you see a little bit of repentance in their eyes? Looking at the photo, it's not super clear. Something tells us that we are going to have to repeat the operation a certain number of times in the future...

Football and Ties

For the second year, the French Embassy in India and the British School have decided to support Tara by organising a charity football tournament, out of which half the benefits comes to our children.

The teens from Tara teamed up with those of Tomorrow's Foundation, a Kolkata-based NGO who came especially to Delhi for this event.

As the big ones were kicking the ball, the smalls spent their energy on the bouncing castle to forget that, like last year ("Sirrrrrr, unfairrrrrrr"), they are still too young to compete.

In the evening, at the Award Ceremony, Jaan celebrated his 18th birthday and improvised in French a beautiful speech on what it is to become an adult. Shyamu, Suraj and Rakesh also took the mike to speak in English about their life at Tara.

In the audience, we could feel the dramatic tension, as well as an impressive silence... and for the Tara boys, the pride to see their big brothers on stage, delivering speeches likes real pros!

Waiting for Tara Tots...

We are putting the final touch to our second shelter home Tara Tots, which will welcome a new group of 20 small children, girls and boys under age 10. As the last layers of paint are drying, we discover an orange tree in the garden... Our cook Vishnu immediately decides the making of an orange jam... We still do not know how the Tara Tots will be but we can already guarantee them a home-made and delicious breakfast!
