Sunil turned 18 years old

On 14th November, Sunil celebrated his birthday at Tara Boys. He is now a young adult!

« Sunil, what does it mean to you to turn 18? »
I can vote and this is important to me. Also, when I was a child, I was less responsible in front of the law. Had I done anything wrong, I would have apologized and be forgiven. Now, if I am tempted to do anything wrong, I have to fight with myself! I'm an adult. This is the main difference. I’m excited to be 18 years old but also scared because people will give me more and more responsibilities and they will count on me.
In fact, being an adult it's too much pressure so maybe I prefer to be a child! (laughing)

« Which gifts did you get for your birthday? »
I got a shirt from my mother (she came to Tara specially for my birthday!), a shiny jacket from a volunteer and I got money from Tara. Instead of purchasing ridiculous things, I boughts toffees for our teachers, the students and Principal Maam at school. I used one of Tara Values which is GENEROSITY and this makes me happy.

« Are you more responsible since last week?! »
I was and I am responsible! For me, being responsible is when I am given to do something and I make sure people can rely on me. Our Tara staff often comes and asks for help in the home, specially going to the shop to pruchase petty items because they trust me a lot.

« In 18 months years, you will be shifted to Tara Big Birds, what do you feel about it? »
I will be happy to go to Tara Big Birds but Tara Boys is really special in my life, it’s my first home so I will not forget to regularly come back here… The Values I have learned, I will use them outside of Tara. I will be the same « Tara-Sunil ! »
